FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions!

Actually more like "Potentially Asked Questions", since no one has asked about these before.

1. What are those blue, green and orange icons below the title of some posts?
You mean these?
These are the icons of Word, Excel and PowerPoint from the three most recent versions of Microsoft Office which my tips usually support: Office 2003, Office 2007, and Office 2008 for Mac. For Office tips, I will put these icons to indicate which office applications and which versions of them the tip applies. If you don't know or forget which is which, just point your mouse at it and the icon will tell you (try it now!) For convenience, I will also name the applications in the title of the post, like this: Tip #25 [Word, Excel]: Undo and clear formatting styles.

2. How often do you update this blog?
I aim to provide a new tip every 1 or 2 days, but if I get busy or run out of ideas it may sometimes take 3 days for something new to appear. Also, I tend to work at night, so the posting date may roll forwards by one day (I start work at 11pm the current day and post at 1am the next day). Do check back regularly for new tips!

3. What is your policy for commenting on this blog?
You may post comments, whether you are signed in or not, to Blogger, Gmail (your Google Account), Wordpress, LiveJournal, OpenID etc. If you are not signed in, use the Name/URL option to type your name (and your URL if you like). All comments will only be displayed after moderation.

If you ask a question via comments, I will most likely follow-up by posting the answer there as a comment too. If you'd like to be notified when I answer your question, click on the Subscribe by email link after you have submitted your comment.

4. Why are there posts totally unrelated to computers appearing on your blog?
They're just for fun. I thought it would be nice if I sometimes shared some out-of-topic tips.
